Day 1 results

We had a good day 1 at districts with many PR's and regional qualifiers already in hand (top 4 in each event).

Starting the day off for SJA was the high jump, where Jaguars got 2nd (Jordan Daugherty) and 4th (Katelyn Seroka). Shortly afterwards the 4 x 800 team of Kristin Karn (2:22), Kelly Gallagher (2:27), Gabby Kreuz (2:29), and Rachel Borowski (2:26) earned a second place finish with a solid 9:45. Last but not least was the shot put in which Sam Sulzer earned a second straight trip to regionals with a 2nd place finish (32'5").

The running events saw some PR's including Julie Delong in the 200 (28.2), Gabby Kreuz in the 400 (61.1 - #2 all-time SJA and finals qualifier), Erin Gaffney in the 800 semis (2:28.9) and Bride Sweeney in the 300H with 52.74. The 4 x 200 also qualified to the finals running a season's best of 1:50. The 4 x 400 made finals as well with a time of 4:13.

Woodridge Review

On a cold rainy afternoon, several members of the JV squad traveled to Woodridge for the 2nd annual "stars of track and field meet".

Coveted t-shirts were awarded to the top 4 athletes in each event, in which SJA athletes earned a total of 9. Also, Maureen Bole was named "Star Thrower" of the meet for her first place PR in the discus (meet record) of 93'6.5" and her 5th place throw in the shot put.

Besides Bole, shirt winners were: Leah Cwynar, Rachel Caja, and Marie McNamara (all tied for 2nd in the high jump with 4' 4"), Erin Gaffney for her first place PR in the 800, Jordan Daugherty for her 2nd place PR in the 800, Taylor Whisler with a 2nd place PR in the 3200m run, Indie Munday with her lettering standard PR in the shot put (2nd place), and Taylor Miller with her 4th place effort in the shot.

Results are now posted on Baumspage and under the results on the right side of this website.
