Team standings aren’t what we are focused on at this point, and yet I want to point out that these Spire meets are scored and we finished second behind Mentor with 85 points. But more important than that, we placed in every event except for one, which is a demonstration of our depth. We are competing against some of the strongest programs in northeast Ohio and we are doing quite well despite the fact that they’ve been training longer and more often than us. But that will even out in the coming months. Great job and keep it up!

 

ATHLETES OF THE MEET:
Overall MVA—4x800 relay, which posted a state-ranked mark
Sprints—Molly Rogers (8.79 in 60 dash—Coach MK said she had two “perfect” starts!)
Distance/middle distance—Caitlyn Walsh (12:39.36 in first 3200 of the year)
Field—Emma Pesicka (37-2¼ to win the shot put)
