What a great way to end a very successful indoor season! Congratulations to Annie Allen for getting on the podium and earning her third All-Ohio honor. The race went out too slowly and she got a little caught up in traffic, but she showed great heart and talent in breaking her own school record to finish sixth. Additionally, we had several season-best performances in the relays, topped off by a remarkable 4x400 that caught all of the coaches by surprise. I love it when people get caught up in the moment and go out and compete, which is exactly what happened. The 4x200 relay missed the school record by about one-half second, and the 4x400 was within a second of the school record, cutting nearly 10 seconds off the previous best time. Great performances all around. In all we had 11 athletes compete in the state meet with only one senior in the bunch. The future definitely looks bright.

Now we turn our attention to outdoor track. With this kind of indoor season we have set the bar high for the outdoor season, but that’s the way we like it. Nothing wrong with challenging ourselves to do even better and achieve even more. Now we just have to make sure that we continue the momentum that we built up during the winter and keep things rolling into the outdoor season. I am excited and I hope you are, too. Go Jags!
